Overall the trip was good. We saw some gorgeous waterfalls, did some lovely walks, swam in some beautiful waterholes. My fellow travellers were a nice bunch of people, and our young guide, Kinga, was fabulous. We were kept busy the whole time. However, I don't think it was a very well organised tour...the organiser never kept us informed as to the order of events until the last minute. I got the feeling that he made decisions on the hop. We seemed to do a lot of driving back and forth which potentially wasted time. I also feel like we missed out on some of the variety of experiences that could have been had - experiencing the wetlands would have been nice, seeing places like the Lost City, seeing more rock art - rather than waterfall after waterfall. The food was passable but could easily have been improved. More engagement from the organiser probably would have made for a better experience. Still enjoyed it overall, though.

The anticipation and excitement of reaching the end of our walks to the beautiful gorges. Paul and Kinga (our tour guides) were very knowledgeable and friendly. We felt very safe in our travels during our holiday.

I travelled with my family on a 5 day camping tour with Paul and we had a fantastic time. Paul has incredible knowledge of the region, and took us to some fantastic sites across all 3 national parks (Kakadu, Litchfield & Nitmiluk). The waterfalls we visited were incredible, and the yellow rivers cruise was fantastic. It definitely was great to have a 4wd tour as it did allow us to get to other sites that otherwise weren’t accessible. The camping grounds we stayed in all had nice, clean facilities and a good set-up. It was a really easy camping experience and everything we needed was provided too (foldable beds and sleeping mats). The food Paul cooked was really nice, and he was able to perfectly accommodate my low fodmap diet, and other members of the group’s dietary requirements too. I would recommend a tour with Kakadu 4WD Safari’s.

Highly recommended!! What makes this small group tour unique and unforgettable is Darren the indigenous guide, who brings a wealth of lived knowledge about local culture, history, plants and animals, and a wicked sense of humour. He also cooks up a storm every night… a standout was the Creamy Mushroom Kangaroo Fettucine with an added smokiness from the fire. Traveling by air-conditioned FWD truck allows you to stay cool while getting you to the more remote sites in Kakadu National Park. The days are packed with many stops at beautiful waterholes and waterfalls, cultural experiences, guided walks of rock art and other sites, a crocodile boat cruise, many beautiful lookouts and views, an encounter with Arnhemland, a boat ride up magical Katherine Gorge, and you also meet some other wise and colourful local personalities who are proud to share their heritage and knowledge. Every night another glorious sunset in a different location. And when you least expect it, a platter of fruit and snacks magically appears. Camping under the stars is the best way to see this area, and though facilities are rustic, this is reflected in the reasonable price and you'll sleep comfortably every night. Unmissable experience overall.

This was a wonderful way to see the top end. The insights and knowledge Darren & Paul provided really enhanced the experience, and their passion for the land shone through. The tents were spacious and so easy to put up and down (on the couple of occasions that we had to), and the food provided was always plentiful, healthy and delicious
