East alligator river cruise, yellow billabong cruise, Ubirr rock are definate stand outs on this tour Whilst this tour had great components - I felt like it was lacking. Taken to several cultural centres that a lot of people had no interest in with an awkward expectation to buy something. It would have been nice to be given more information about the area and the option for additional activities which would also add to the overall experience. Some activities felt quite rushed while others felt quite dragging. Obviously there's a lot of travel time that is not commented on before purchase. In saying that our tour guide Shane was fantastic and looked after us well.

Driver Michael was fantastic. He was passionate about the indigenous history and their people. The highlights were the Ubirr walk. Climbing to the top, the view was spectacular. Then the South Alligator river with an indigenous guide. He was fabulous. As an optional extra we flew in a fixed wing, light plane over Kakadu. It was well worth the $, although you need to be nimble getting in and out. If you have mobility issues it wouldn’t be for you

Driver Callum was very informative, welcoming and friendly. Bus was clean and comfortable. Third party tour operators were welcoming, fun and passionate. Special mention to Wayne of Yellow River and Roman at East Alligator. The landscape, animals and culture are amazing. Wishing we had more time and planning to come back.

Lack of numbers due to covid travel restrictions caused our original tour to changed to the 2 day tour. The tour was well paced consisting of a cultural walk and a cruise each day. The Yellow Water tour was excellent wildlife tour while the E Alligator River tour run by an indigenous guide gave great insight to his culture. The AATKings tour leader Callum lead both of the rock art walks, he had good knowledge and empathy for Aboriginal culture. The overnight stop at the Croc Hotel Kakadu was good as was the provided lunches. The bus was one of their mid sized 30 seaters it was noisy when idling but otherwise comfortable. Overall we learnt much about indigenous culture saw great sights and had an enjoyable time.

Because of Covid our group was 15 on day 1 and 4 on day 2 which was great. Our coach was VERY big and perhaps something smaller would have been more friendly but understand logistics. Our driver/guide Sandie was competent, efficient, knowledgable and friendly and we couldn't have asked for anyone better. The places we went and trips we did were as the itinerary described and we certainly gained a lot of knowledge. The overnight stay at the Crocodile Hotel in Jabaru was perfect with a very comfortable room and excellent dining room.

This tour was excellent. Well organised and driver excellent both in safety and knowledge. His assistance whilst on tour with everyone like a full bus load I think 60 plus was fantastic. He assisted everyone with water fill ups.

This is a brilliant way to see Kakadu if you're not in the market to drive yourself. Our driver/guide Deb was awesome! She managed our luggage, provided fresh drinking water at every stop, drove safely, and thoughtfully educated us about the traditional owners and history of the land. Unfortunately Ubirr was closed to the public, but we were given a clear explanation of why. Our Yellow Water cruise with the quietly spoken Dennis (with 2 N's) was a peaceful couple of hours filled with birds and crocodiles, and information about the wildlife. The following day's cruise on East Alligator River was captained by Tyrone, who told us of his life in Arnhem Land. The more questions we asked, the more animated he became! We stayed at the Crocodile Hotel overnight, where the beds were comfortable, the pool was inviting and the food was good. It's not a new hotel, but there's nothing wrong with it! I would recommend doing the 2 days rather than the day trip as it's 350 km each way.

Big bus full of a lot of very old people. We are in our 60's but like to interact with younger people as well. The bus driver sounded like he was going to fall asleep at the wheel. Nice guy but just droned on an on, forgot what he was saying and repeated himself First day we were the first pick up but spent an hour driving around Darwin picking up a bunch of other people then met another bus that was 3/4 full and we had to get on that one so were shoved down the very back. The Mecure hotel in Jabiru was opened in 1988 and looks like it hasn't had a refurb since then. The hotel staff were disinterested and are obviously that used to having a bunch of old folks arriving on a bus every day they take their jobs for granted. When we stopped for our buffet lunch another bus arrived at the same time. We had 40 mins to have lunch but being down the back of the bus we were just about last in the queue. With 20 mins left we went to public restaurant area around the corner and bought some potato wedges and a couple of cold beers. Same thing happened the next day back at the Mecure but this time there were three bus loads. Really poorly coordinated. The two river cruises were great but we could have self driven and booked those ourselves. On the way back we were the last drop off of 12 different hotels. We were back in Darwin but would have to sit on the bus for another hour so got off at the first stop at the casino and got a taxi back to our hotel. Partly my fault for booking the tour, i should have known what to expect but gee it was poorly organised and everything was sooo slooowwww. We also didn't get to go to Ubirr which was closed. i knew this because I read it on line but no one else on the bus knew until the driver told them on the morning we were supposed to go there. The bus also is supposed to have WiFi but the driver didn't know the password. He did remember that the word 'smile' was in the password. Eventually we worked out it was smile plus the number of the bus. It's a little thing but just write it down somewhere so if people ask you can tell them.

I have to say our tour guide Malcolm I give 5 stars to he was so informative with the areas we visited and also the personal touch of his own experiences in life that added to our trip! Honestly if it wasn’t for him as a tour guide I would have marked my review stars a lot lower as the tour was not what my itinerary said so in all I was disappointed about what I was able to see and do , the two days I ended up doing were really pretty identical .. just a bit of communication would have been great to say hey guys sorry your tour itinerary now won’t include XYZ.... I get things change but this was a week out after our four day tour was canceled two days before leaving. Just really disappointed by the lack communication by AAT .
